i cant uninstall norton 2006 from my windows vista and i keep getting "driver is blocked due to compatibility issues" how do i fix these.

Why didn't you run the Upgrade Advisor before you started? It would have told you to uninstall Norton and some other programs if it found them on your system. You may have to do a Custom Installation (clean install) of Vista.

1) Try System Restore 2) Try Startup Repair 3) Try Manual Uninstall of Norton
It's not clear to me if your error is a Norton error or a Windows error. Wheever you're getting the error why not let us know and give us the whole error with a number. Is it on trying to uninstall NAV 06 via Add/Remove? The complete error and number would have helped and also IDing whose error. Have you tried either System Restore or the components of StR tool(Startup Repair)--part of Vista's fix mechanism Win RE? They might fix this. Manual uninstall directions for Norton (should you need them) are below:

If you run Win RE's Startup Repair in Vista, it will try to check and repair the following and we're taking about under three minutes usually when it works which is often: (this is not a complete list but a list of major tasks it can perform):
Registry Corruptions
Missing/corrupt driver files (you don't have to guess here--it looks at all of them
Missing/corrupt system files (disabled in Beta 2 as is System File Checker but present newer builds)
Incompatible Driver Installation

Startup Repair may offer a dialogue box to use System restore.

1) Insert Media into PC (the DVD you burned)

Removal of Norton AV 2006:
1) Downloaed and use the WICU. The WICU clears junk in the way of a clean uninstall or install--corrupted files, and registry strings. It's good practice to use this prior to any uninstall particularly of larger more complex programs. Add/Remove is not something that MSFT has ever made to work competently or well. Vista has no improvement in this arena.

It's not clear to me what the OP's problem was because he didn't make it clear. I'm guessing he installed NAV--is having some problem with Vista and is pinning this on NAV and NAV is beying Norton and giving im a problem uninstalling.
There are software compatibility lists all over the web. The upgrade advisor is a good idea, but it isn't always accurate. MSFT also has a political/legal agenda with some vendors, considering they are Defendant in federal district court with one of them--Symantec. I prefer the lists on some of the better Vista sites most of whom have compatibiilty lists for the interim and milestone (each build) and tell you which components of the software work and might not so you can decide which ones you can live with and try.

What is interesting (MSFT seems very skittish to incoroporate an AV product into Vista--which only makes sense as a legal defensive move) is that MSFT can't get its act together 13 months into the Beta to allow installation of Windows One Care Live into Vista.
Norton Antivirus Corporate 10.0 is one that has always been said to be compatible with Vista. Something tells me that perhaps, perchance since Symantec has sued MSFT in Federal District Court with the threat to ask for sanctions including Vista's release held up (even more than MSFT can and will hold it and should themselves until they can fix some basics like Windows File Protection) that I should expect to see endorsements of Symantec products on a MSFT web page like this one:
Grisoft's AGV, Avast (32 and 64) and Trend are compatible with 32 bit Vista builds; I'm not sure about the 64's.
