i cant uninstall norton 2006 from my windows vista and i keep getting "driver is blocked due to compatibility issues" how do i fix these.

drirvers problem and norton problems
Why didn't you run the Upgrade Advisor before you started? It would have told you to uninstall Norton and some other programs if it found them on your system. You may have to do a Custom Installation (clean install) of Vista.

Goldtiger--
1) Try System Restore 2) Try Startup Repair 3) Try Manual Uninstall of Norton
It's not clear to me if your error is a Norton error or a Windows error. Wheever you're getting the error why not let us know and give us the whole error with a number. Is it on trying to uninstall NAV 06 via Add/Remove? The complete error and number would have helped and also IDing whose error. Have you tried either System Restore or the components of StR tool(Startup Repair)--part of Vista's fix mechanism Win RE? They might fix this. Manual uninstall directions for Norton (should you need them) are below:
What It Can Do:
If you run Win RE's Startup Repair in Vista, it will try to check and repair the following and we're taking about under three minutes usually when it works which is often: (this is not a complete list but a list of major tasks it can perform):
Registry Corruptions
Missing/corrupt driver files (you don't have to guess here--it looks at all of them
Missing/corrupt system files (disabled in Beta 2 as is System File Checker but present newer builds)
Incompatible Driver Installation
Incompatible OS update installations
Startup Repair may offer a dialogue box to use System restore.
How to Use Startup Repair:
***Accessing Windows RE (Repair Environment):***
1) Insert Media into PC (the DVD you burned)
2) ***You will see on the Vista logo setup screen after lang. options in the lower left corner, a link called "System Recovery Options."***

Screenshot: (Click first option "Startup Repair" http://www.leedesmond.com/images/img_vista02ctp-installSysRecOpt2.bmp
3) Select your OS for repair.
4) Its been my experience that you can see some causes of the crash from theWin RE feature:
You'll have a choice there of using:
1) Startup Repair 2) System Restore 3) Complete PC Restore
Removal of Norton AV 2006:
1) Downloaed and use the WICU. The WICU clears junk in the way of a clean uninstall or install--corrupted files, and registry strings. It's good practice to use this prior to any uninstall particularly of larger more complex programs. Add/Remove is not something that MSFT has ever made to work competently or well. Vista has no improvement in this arena.

2) Use these directions to manually uninstall Norton AV 2006 this will apply to any Home version you have as well:

It's not clear to me what the OP's problem was because he didn't make it clear. I'm guessing he installed NAV--is having some problem with Vista and is pinning this on NAV and NAV is beying Norton and giving im a problem uninstalling.
There are software compatibility lists all over the web. The upgrade advisor is a good idea, but it isn't always accurate. MSFT also has a political/legal agenda with some vendors, considering they are Defendant in federal district court with one of them--Symantec. I prefer the lists on some of the better Vista sites most of whom have compatibiilty lists for the interim and milestone (each build) and tell you which components of the software work and might not so you can decide which ones you can live with and try.

IEX Beta Wiki Vista Compatibility List http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List
What is interesting (MSFT seems very skittish to incoroporate an AV product into Vista--which only makes sense as a legal defensive move) is that MSFT can't get its act together 13 months into the Beta to allow installation of Windows One Care Live into Vista.
Norton Antivirus Corporate 10.0 is one that has always been said to be compatible with Vista. Something tells me that perhaps, perchance since Symantec has sued MSFT in Federal District Court with the threat to ask for sanctions including Vista's release held up (even more than MSFT can and will hold it and should themselves until they can fix some basics like Windows File Protection) that I should expect to see endorsements of Symantec products on a MSFT web page like this one:
Grisoft's AGV, Avast (32 and 64) and Trend are compatible with 32 bit Vista builds; I'm not sure about the 64's.
"We are glad to announce that the latest versions of all avast! antivirus editions, including the free Home Edition, now support the new Windows Vista platform (both 32-bit and 64-bit builds). "
"Grisoft AVG Protection Available for Users of Windows Vista Beta 2 Bug Fix in public test version of Windows Vista operating system now allows users to install AVG Anti-Virus products"

Windows Vista Beta 2 Antivirus Partners http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/viruses/wsc/en-us/windowsvistabeta2.mspx
Of course Symantec has been a Platinum Partner of MSFT's for over ten years, and I'm sure they won't let a little thing like a federal law suit or Norton's new paper critical of Vista security (but apprising Beta code and not the finished product):
Free Trial Subscription from Trend Micro
"Trend Micro is a long-established, global leader in antivirus and Internet content security software and services. Now with Windows VistaT Beta support, Trend Micro's PC-cillin Internet Security provides comprehensive and easy to use protection for your computer and smartphone"

What is you smokin' girlfiend?
ConDUHleeza are you for real girlfriend? The last time the US tried to broker an agreement and cut out Syria whose ambassador is truly a charter member of Darwin's Waiting Room they introduced their bouncers Hezbelah in 1983who promptly blew up the US embassy and French and US Marines in Beiruit immediately.
Kudos to the macho heros of Hezbollah whose brave warriors as always have embedded themselves into civillian apartments, hospitals and schools and then wonder why their missle launchers are targeted wherever they go.
Damascus is ready to give the US the bird. They don't need the US. They got the oil. And the US they got the big ass SUVs that drink the oil.
Kudos to Kofi--you had UN forces 2500 of 'em in Lebanon for years. (UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). They've done as much as your building in midtown Manhatten crammed full of pseudo-dignitaries who double park on the upper East side and keep the escort services in business.
